Kistler's 2014 Pinot Noir (Sonoma Coast) is a striking appellation-level wine. Sweet red cherry, tobacco, game, smoke, and licorice add aromatic underpinning. Delicate, supple and quite pretty, the Sonoma Coast Pinot hits all the right notes. Sweet floral and spice notes add lift through the pliant, open-knit finish. There is so much to like.
Pale to medium ruby-purple colored, the 2014 Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir has a wonderfully spicy nose with notes of cinnamon, cloves and anise over a core of red and black cherries plus a waft of garrigue. Medium to full-bodied, it offers great intensity with loads of spicy berry fruit and just enough earthiness to add interest, finishing with a plush, velvety texture lining the way.
